Internet Icon Disappeared And Signal Strength Showing No Bars With Red Symbol

I have an LG Optimus Q.  Today's problem is the signal strength went from 4 bars to black and it has a red symbol over it. It also isn't getting internet connection and the 3g isn't showing, however it was showing 1x right before all this happened.  I have been sitting in the same seat for 2 hours so it's not because of my location.
