Misfires

My check engine light flashes on occasion. It will come on and then when i turnthe car off and restart it clears. I took it to Autozone started flashing on right when I was pulling in the parking lot. The associate checked the car and the code came back to random misfires in the 4 cylinders. What could be causing this
