1. Door switches: There are typically 3-4 door switches that need to be engaged for the microwave to function. If any of these switches are faulty or not engaging properly, the microwave won't function. You can check the switches with a multimeter.
2. High voltage diode: The high voltage diode may have failed due to the power surge. The diode converts the electrical current from the transformer into microwave energy. You can test the diode with a multimeter.
3. Magnetron: The magnetron produces the microwave energy that heats the food. If the magnetron is faulty, the microwave won't heat. You can test the magnetron with a multimeter.
If you are not comfortable or experienced in working with high voltage electrical components, it is recommended to have a licensed technician take a look at your microwave. Always practice safety and make sure to discharge any capacitors before attempting to work on your microwave.
