Compass Calibration

Hi i have just purchased my new T touch Expert and have read up on calibrating the Compass a relatively easy exercise ,however each time i try and calibrate following the precise instructions i get KO instead of Ok ,Ko stating the watch has failed to calibrate ,i go in to calibration mode and rotate the watch from a table top flat surface allowing a rotation of 30 degrees per second no more than 20 seconds i have tried this at various speed under different locations still no luck any clues please ,i am assuming there is no satellite link required ? and that the watch dos this through a motion rather than external link ,secondly in the Meteo mode the watch has two settings ,absolute and relative i dont understand that on a bright hot day the watch when checked can be posting down towards a negative in Pressure showing a drop when everything is pointing towards good weather on the Met forcasts ,there is no ref to the setting and why this can be changed and whats achievable under relative pressure and why this is changeable as to the altitude it apparantly changes i would have thought it would give a direct indication of the forbearing weather in real time as yesterday it pointed towards a very negative weather wise and today the weather is great any clues as to all of this please ?
