How To Set Up Voicemail Using A Landline Phone?
Earlier email indicated could set up and receive voicemail using landline phone but no specific instructions were given.

You have to call the access number they provided, but I just call my own phone number and hit the star button when it picks up, then enter my passcode.

Setting up your Home Voice Mail
Lift your phone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.
Dial the access number you were given when you signed up for Home Voice Mail service.
If you are setting up the system from your own phone:
Enter your temporary passcode.
This is the last four digits of your telephone number.
Press when you hear the greeting.
If you are setting up the system from another phone or have a blocking feature on your phone:
Press when you hear the greeting.
Enter your 10-digit phone number you received in your Welcome Kit.
Enter your temporary passcode (the last four digits of your telephone number).
Press .
Recorded voice instructions will guide your through each of these steps:
Create a new password.
Your new password must be a 4- to 8-digit number. It should be easy to remember but difficult for others to guess. Avoid using repeating digits (such as 1111), sequential digits (such as 1234), or any part of your telephone number.
Record your name.
Record or change your Personal Greeting.
Callers will hear your Personal Greeting when they reach your mailbox.
Record or change your Busy Greeting (available for Deluxe and OnePoint Voice Mail only)
Callers will hear your Busy Greeting when you are using your telephone and your line is busy.
Accessing your Home Voice Mail
At Home:
Lift your phone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.
If you have any new messages, you will hear an interrupted dial tone.
If you have messages, dial your access number.
Dial your Password to reach the Home Voice Mail Main Menu.
Press when the greeting begins.
Follow the automated instructions.
Away From Home:
Lift your phone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.
Dial your access number.
When the system answers, press .
Enter your mailbox number.
This is the same as your home telephone number.
Enter your passcode.
At the Main Menu, Press .
Follow the automated instructions.
Retrieving your messages
When you reach your Main Message Box, a voice prompt tells you how many new and saved messages you have and guides you through retrieving them.
You must save, erase, or skip each message before you can hear the next message.
Changing your password online
You also can reset your Voice Mail password online without registering to use the Verizon Web site.
