My Phone Has A Touch Screen That Seems To Last About 6 Months, My Third One Just

Does warranty cover anything other than sending me another problem waiting to happen?Can I get a phone that will last longer than 6 months, the touchscreen is nice but not that nice, and is there any way to get my contact numbers out of this phone?
