Why Does Ups Have Unreasonable Rules?.

My wife and I both work until 5pm. We ordered 6 tasting bottles if wine for $6.95 and two days UPS left notice of trying to deliver the wine. I cslled snd explained our situation and was advised I could pick it up at UPS office for $6.00 fee.. The office is 15 miles round trip for me. We advised that our two next door neighbors are retired and 78 and 75 years old. They are home and would sign for the wine. It is 25 steps from our door to their door.I was told that UPS Rules would not allow that. I spoke with a supervisor and he said it was a RULE!! The result is lost business for an American company because we probably would have purchased wine and UPS would have profited from that business as well as the wine company.I had the package returned to sender, rerequested a credit refund on the purchase. The result was lost profit for UPS and wine company. Your rule is STUPID in today's critical economy. To not allow two senior citizens to sign for and receive a $7.00 item for a neighbor is poor business management. I have always respected UPS and the service they provided. That respect is gone and I will use another delivery company in all future orders. I will also post my complaint on social Media because your management is governed by ridiculous RULES.
