Adding A New Dvr Cable Box

1. Make sure your URC MX-780 remote is in programming mode. To do this, press and hold the "S2" button until the LED indicator on the remote lights up.

2. Enter the programming code for your new Spectrum DVR. Look for the code in the documentation that came with the URC MX-780 remote or check the manufacturer's website. Find the section specifically for programming codes related to Spectrum DVRs. Once you have the code, enter it using the remote's number buttons.

3. Once the code is entered, press the "Power" button on the remote. If the new DVR turns on or off, it means your remote has been successfully programmed. If not, try entering a different code and repeat the process.

4. Test the other buttons on the remote to make sure they are functioning properly with the new DVR. Press buttons like "Menu," "Guide," "Record," or "Play" to see if they control the respective functions on your Spectrum DVR.

5. If the provided programming code doesn't work or if you can't find the correct code, don't worry. There is another method you can try called the "learning mode":

- On the URC MX-780 remote, press and hold the "S2" button until the LED indicator lights up.

- Press the "M" button to enter the learning mode.

- Hold your URC MX-780 remote and the original Spectrum DVR remote you received from them, so their IR transmitters are facing each other.

- Press the corresponding button on the original remote that you want to program into the URC MX-780. Aim both remotes at each other and hold them close together until the LED indicator on the MX-780 remote flashes twice.

- Repeat this process for each button you want to program into the URC MX-780 remote. 6. Once you have finished programming all the desired buttons, press the "S2" button to exit the learning mode. Now your URC MX-780 remote should be programmed to control your new Spectrum DVR. Give it a test by using various buttons and functions.
