How Can I Get Confirmation That One Of My Flights Was Canceled?

United is telling me that they can not send me confirmation that my flight from Denver, CO to Gunnison, CO was cancelled because it was a partner flight with US Air. US Air is also telling that they can on send me a confirmation because it is a United Flight. I need this confirmation so that my insurance company will reimburse me. I appreciate any help you can provide.
