we have a minature schnauzer dog is there a weight limit in cabin? Do all United counters sell the approved kennel?

Do not show up for check in with you schnauzer in-arms even though United ticket counters do offer the kennel for $60.00. Their availablity is not guaranteed. If they are out of carriers, what will you do then?

In-cabin pet kennels may be available at United ticket counters for $60.00. Purchases may be made with cash or check, and are subject to availability. The dimensions are 18 in. (length) x 11 in. (width) x 11 in. (height) (or 46 cm x 28 cm x 28 cm) for soft-sided kennels.

Your dog will probably travel better if already acclimated to the carrier and its familiar smells. Plan to obtain the properly sized kennel in advance and allow your pet time to become familiar with it.

Pets must be carried in an approved in-cabin kennel. The kennel must fit completely under the seat forward of the customer and remain there at all times aboard the aircraft. Maximum hard case kennel dimensions are: 17.5 in. (length) x 12 in. (width) x 7.5 in. (height) (or 44 cm x 30 cm x 19 cm) for hard-sided kennels and 18 in. (length) x 11 in. (width) x 11 in. (height) (or 46 cm x 28 cm x28 cm) for soft-sided kennels.
