How Can I Get My Seat Assignments?

I have a reservation made on United Airlines. I was able to make some of my seat assignments. However, they weren't confirmed. I was not able to get a seat assignment for one of the flights. How can i get my seat assignments?

It really depends on the seat availability and the flight routing. Most domestic flights only allow a percentage of the available seats to be preassigned. They need to leave some seats unassigned for the airport agents to handle families traveling with children or passengers with disabilities. Also, there are some flights that don't offer preassigned seats at all, but those are usually domestic flights within a different country. If you are trying without success to get a specific seat assignment on a flight, chances are you will have to wait until airport check-in to receive a seat assignment and boarding pass.
