Using My Wireless Stick For Broadband On Another Computer

my computer is broke my sister gave me her old one to use it is also hp laptop im trying to load my verizon stick on to the computer i have put the cd that came with it it does not work i also just put the stick in port it does not work the number on back of stick is usb 720
