Why Am I Can't I Use My Phone?

JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS I NO LONGER COULD SEND A TEXT OR PHONE CALLS WOULD BE CUT OFF... I HAVE NO BARS ON MY PHONE. I NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. MY PHONE IS ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD TO ME ANYMORE. I CAN'T EVEN TEXT MY DAUGHTER ACROSS THE STREET. IT TELLS ME THE NETWORK IS NOT RESPONDING. I WANT TO KNOW IF THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE?
