Worked On A Different Laptop, But Hd Died.
won't run on 2nd LT same as old one XP, etc)keeps asking for install disk. don't have one anymore. what do i do?

You have to ask what was the original format of the drive? Was it in a mac for instance. If you are not concerned for the data then a low level format would probably restore the drive to usability. Many O/S's put a file at the start of the drive which identifies its original format. Normal formatting will not remove this. There is a programme available at this link:
