Are Discounts Available On Tickets To Canada For The Christmas Season

hello,i live in st.lucia and i'm planning to go to canada for the christmas holidays.i want to know if there are any discounts on tickets around that time,and since i've never travelled before i want to know what i can and cannot take with me.but most of all i want to know how much my ticket will cost and what date in december can i leave where can i buy my ticket.
