This Washer Is Defective. Has It Been Recalled?

The washer Model: WFW9470WW has problems with the drum - spinning, horrendous noise and knocking. It has been this way from the outset. At this point it doesn't spin at all. All the reviews I've read about the product have said the same things; the same complaints. My dealer knew which machine I was referring to before looking up our purchase. He told me that Whirlpool was aware of the defects of this model and that some customers were given new machines by Whirlpool, others were being partially reimbursed and the product has been discontinued. Has it been recalled too? I've been buying appliances for 40 years now and most of them have been Whirlpool. I bought this washer for a summer home use, so it is not even one year old in usage terms ( it was bought July 2010 and used 2 months of the year!). I now have to purchase a new Whirlpool washer so that it fits under the dryer! Also a new stacking kit and paying for another installation! I've always thought of Whirlpool as an honorable company. If this model hasn't been recalled, I would expect a fair reimbursement towards this new machine that I have to buy. I was told that the new version has none of these problems. I hope that is so. Your washer, a Duet front load washer, has a broken sprider bracket. A common problem with front load washers. There has been no recall for this problem by Whirlpool. Once the washer is out of warrenty, it's not WP's problem, it's yours.
