Unit Will Not Start

We have had no problems for approximately 8 months after purchasing the unit new. Currently while attempting to start a load after closing the lid completely, selecting load options, and pressing the start button, nothing happens, it will not turn on at all. I have checked the plug and outlet, the units lock for the lid and our breaker, which all seem to be without problems. We also changed the setting multiple times which did not change the result. What could be causing this malfuntion?
