Updated To Windows Live Messenger 2011, Now Can't Log In

ever since I upgraded to 2011 it ha been a nightmare. question #1 can I change back to the older version? question #2 I I hate the new logon screen, It is displayed in two frames which oeverlap and so I can't see the whole line. Question #3 Why can't I hide my status and still chat to that person? Question #4 Can I go back to the old version

Please follow this link.  Elena Santos has a nice tutorial on how to downgrade to the 2009 version.  Pictures included.  Just follow the instructions and you should be good to go.

Not to change the subject, but on a side note... unless there is some overwhelming reason to use Windows Messenger I recommend using Pidgin.  http://www.pidgin.im/about/
