Please know that if you received a notice when signing in that the ID is not yet taken, this error is often temporary and you should be able to access your account shortly.
Also, we have received reports from other users who receive this error in the sign-in screen after mistakenly entering a space either before or after their Yahoo! ID.
If you're still receiving a message that your Yahoo! ID is not yet taken and you've made sure there are no spaces around your ID please try the following trouble shooting steps.
Also, please attempt to login from all three of the following Yahoo! locations:

Note: Clearing your Internet Browser's cache and cookies may also resolve this issue.
If possible, we ask that you also attempt to access each of these links from a different browser or computer, to help eliminate the possibility of an issue with your computers configuration settings. If you have another Yahoo! ID, please let us know if you are experiencing the same issue with that Yahoo! ID as well. Please attempt these steps and then if needed contact Yahoo! Customer Care and advise them of your findings.
