Can't Get Past 'please Verify Your Password' To Get Into My Email

I've tried changing my p/w- it accepts my security answers aand I go thru the p/w change but then the sign-in screen says my password is invalid (meets their parameters). I get an email at my alt email address that it's been changed but the only time I dont get an error is when I use my orig p/w. I just keep getting the 'please verify your password' screen.
