channel lites off/on doesn't lite up when depressed for on function

Check that the switch actually connects to the source even though the lite doesn't. It is likely dirty contacts in the area of the switches and a spray with switch cleaner could resolve the issue. The lamps are likely to be OK if they come on sometimes.
