Why Did Microsoft Stop Making The Zune?

I had an Hd with 32 gigs and it was very good,the sound quality wa sgreat and the picture quality was even better.   was it replaced by windows phone?

Due to poor demand from consumers and the ever more popular monopoly of ipod music players, microsoft decided to discontinue the product because they weren't making any profits.
