Ipod

All the songs on my ipod has been wiped out so I wanted to restore it but I forgot my password and it won't allow me to reset my password.Also I can't get a green light on my ipod, just a orange light and I've had this ipod plugged in since yesterday. How can I reset my password? And I've had this $40 ipod for 2 yrs. now, is it time to get a new one? Thank-you, Evie Wiberg
