Acer Veriton N281G Reviews

Is Acer still out there at all?
About 1 1/2 years ago I purchased six Acer Veriton PCs for a small library. Based on a personal experience with an Acer laptop, these very small CPUs seemed to be the perfect solution for a building with severely limited space.Overall I was, and still am to some extent, satisfied with their performance But I've recently encountered a really unexpected problem, and can't get help!
My PC skills are not bad, and I know how to navigate behind the scenes when needed. My need to do that now is pretty important. I need to use the F8 key to access Repair Your Computer and then bring up the Command Prompt. I need to make a change that can only be made using that approach.
My problem is that the command prompt comes up with an X: drive that has never heard of the C: drive!! I cannot get to the file I need to change, and it is not
changeable through Windows even as admin.
This may be a pretty easy fix, but I have never encountered it before and foolishly thought Acer could tell me what to do. The software company involved is helping even though I'm using an older version of their produuct. I have searched the Acer site. This little CPU doesn't have an snid by the way either and the warranty is out as well,so Acer won't even talk to me.
They do, however send me to multiple sites that will charge me to talk to me. They'll also sell me a user guide/Manual that should have been available to me as a free download in the first place.
Sorry, for the extended tale, but I wanted to make my complaint clear. There service is lousy and you can't expect any help after your warranty expires. Hmm. maybe that's a marketing ploy.
