Mount the telephone on the mounting plate until it is held securely into an electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch. Remove the telephone base from the electrical outlet. 11 Unplug the telephone line cord from the telephone wall jack and the power adapter cord from the wall. Unwrap the telephone line cord.
