Assuming that you have another ISP, you can call them to ask about migrating your AT&T U-verse email address to another such as Yahoo.

What you need to do is call Tech Support of your new internet provider to ask them how to do this.  Be aware that sometimes there are glitches so it might take more than one attempt.

Now if you aren't concerned about your old email box contents and are not concerned with having your contact list of any of your saved or archived email, no problem. But if you cancelled before making preparation such as moving, copying, notifying contact list and deleting personal information left in your AT&T email, then you shouldn't have a problem.

No one else will be assigned to your email address if that is your concern, they aren't like phone numbers.
