Before recoding - try pressing the AT&T button in the upper left row of mode buttons at the top of the remote. Power off. Then use the receiver to power on. Press and hold the receiver power button until the lights flash. (5-10 seconds)
If this does not work, you will have to re-enter your remote code. Some TVs have more than one code and you will have to go through the process with each code. Despite the fact that AT&T U-verse says the project will only take a short time, in actuality, it can take several minutes.
Just so you know, you can re-code from the AT&T U-Verse Standard Remote Control User Guide or you can have a Tech Support person walk you through the process step by step. Then if there is still a problem they can run a diagnostic. You can reach Technical Support 24/7 through the automated switchboard at 800-288-2020.
You can find the guide online at this AT&T U-verse TV User and Feature Guide page if you can't locate the one which came with the receiver.
