I Need An Unlock Code For A Samsung Eternity

My mother gave me a samsung eternity that she used, i want to use the phone but I have service through t-Mobile. I wanted to use the sims card in this phone but At&t says that they don't have the code. I'm assuming that samsung is the manufacturer they could give me the code to unlock this phone.
