Flight Awards on American Airlines

You can use your AAdvantage miles to fly to exciting destinations on American Airlines, American Eagle® or the AmericanConnection® carrier, oneworld member airlines and other AAdvantage participant airlines. You may use your miles for yourself or for anyone you designate* at the time of ticketing. The itinerary you choose determines the number of miles you need to use.**

Each award is valid for one way travel unless otherwise specified. You can create the award itinerary that best meets your needs by combining multiple award types for each direction of travel.

AAnytime® Awards

This type of travel award provides you with the most flexibility, because with an AAnytime Award you canbook any unsold seat on any flight, on any day. When you travel using an AAnytime Award, you'll also receive additional travel benefits including two free checked bags, complimentary access toPreferred Seats and PriorityAAccessSM privileges, which include expedited check-in, exclusive security screening lanes (where available) and priority boarding.

MileSAAver® Awards

This type of travel award requires fewer miles. Using a MileSAAver Award is ideal if your travel plans are flexible since this more economical option is subject to limitations on seat availability as well as travel embargo dates on some participant airlines.

See how many miles you'll need for your next adventure by clicking on the red American Airlines Award Chart button. Then, view a quick demo to learn how to book award travel. And, when you're ready, book your travel.
