Your question is incomplete. I'm sorry that you had to make the emergency trip to Indonesia but you did not explain what the credit would be for.

If you had to change a planned flight, you would need to contact American Airlines Customer service. Actually if this flight was going to interfere with a flight you missed because of the emergency, you should have notified American Airlines as soon as you knew you would not make the original flight.

You might find your answer on the American Airlines FAQ page see #3 for instructions about changing a reservation. I think you will need to speak to a representative. You can check with reservations 1-800-433-7300 if you were ticketed originally through the American Airlines reservations office, an airport ticket counter or a travel center.

most emergency fares have to be identified at the time of booking, but you can always call the customer service line and see if you can get any credit.
