2000 Monte Carlo Rear View Mirror Clouding

A cloudy sploth started growing on my rear view mirror last Monday. AS the week progressed, the clody sploth grew and now it alomost completely covered the mirror's glass. No glas cleaner or wood alcohol seems to clean the mirror. All the interiror lights on it work, but do I now need to replace the whole mirror?
