Stations Pixelating

Several of my stations are startingto pixelating. So much so that I can't watch them anymore. This started several months ago and has just gotten worse over time. My downstairs HD receiver works fine but the upstairs HD receiver has this problem. As a note, the upstairs receiver is older and stays quite hot while the downstairs receiver is newer and stays just slightly warm. Can you replace the old receiver with a newer one that stays cool?
