Why Can't I Watch One Channel While Recording Another Channel?

Depending on your receiver model, you may be able to. The default for a dual-tuner DVR is that you can record one show, and watch another. If the receiver only has one tuner, then you do have to be watching what is currently recording, or a previously recorded event.
