Does esurance have connection with certain body shops where they get a discount on repairs?

It appears the answer may be Yes, although the discount is probably not passed on to the vehicle owner. Esurance says "The E-star Direct Repair Program is designed to help expedite the car repair process and provide excellent service at state-of-the-art facilities." This may indicate that the recommended facility accepts less for a job (from esurance) in return for the recommendation--but it's possible that different arrangements may be in force.
