Why does reset button pop off even when unit is not turned on?

This suggests an electrical issue with either the outlet or circuit the unit is on.  Make sure you are plugging the unit directly into the wall without an adapter extension cord or power strip.  Make sure there are no other appliances on that plug and if that does not work move the unit to another window preferably on another circuit.  If the problem persists call 1-877-337-3639 which is the manufacture's help center
