I Have Setup My Hotmail Account On Outlook 2007

my hotmail is set up with my Outlook 2007 and sends and receives ok but any emails left in the Hotmail inbox just keep receiving over and over again in Outlook. Up to 300 times or more. I have deleted the account and tried setting up again but made no difference
