StoppÄ±ng A PossÄ±ble VÄ±rus Sent Out To Everyone Ä±n My Address Book

I opened an email from a friend of mine and it has now accessed and sent that same email out to my whole address book. What can I do to make sure this doesn't continue or happen again please?

One word.... ANTIVIRUS.

Make sure you have it. Make sure it's up to date. Free ones are as good as paid for. I recommend Avast!. http://www.avast.com/en-us/index

Many email viruses are Java based. Others use security holes in Windows. A good AV program will block these.

You neglected to mention if you get email via a browser or a local client. The solution will vary depending on how you get email.
