Husqvarna Mz6128 Electrical Issues.

I have a 1 1/2 yr. old MZ6128. After mowing for about 2 hours I turned off the machine for a break. After approx. 15 minutes I tryed to re-start the mower but only got a solenoid "clicking" sound. Upon further inspection I found that the positive battery cable was loose at the battery terminal. After tightening the cable I still had the solenoid click so i hooked up jumper cables to my truck. The cables immediatly began to heat up. Very hot. I disconnected jumper cables. I checked solenoid and starter for heat and found that both were very hot. I let everything cool down overnight. I tested the solenoid and it checks out OK. I checked the battery, it showed 80 % charge. Any idea what may have caused this? I am charging the battery now and have not tried to re-start yet.
