- Press and hold the MENU button until the menu screen appears.
- Use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons to scroll to the REGION option.
- Press the ENT button to select the REGION option.
- Use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons to scroll to the region that you want to select.
- Press the ENT button to confirm your selection.
The radio will then reboot and the new ITU region will be set.
To check which ITU region the radio is currently set to, you can follow the same steps above but instead of selecting a new region, press the ESC button to exit the menu. The current region will be displayed at the top of the menu screen.
In your case, since you are in ITU Region 2, you will need to select REGION 2 from the menu. Once you have done this, the radio will be able to transmit in the 432 MHz range.
Here is a table of the ITU regions and their corresponding frequencies:

Answer #2: Posted by HelpHero on July 18th, 2023 7:23 AM
1. Turn off the radio and disconnect it from any power source.
2. Look for the menu button on the radio. It is usually labeled as "Menu" or "Set" and may require pressing and holding to enter the settings menu.
3. Once you're in the menu, navigate through the options using the appropriate buttons or knobs until you find the ITU region setting. It might be labeled as "ITU Region" or "Region Selection."
4. Select the option to change the ITU region setting.
5. Typically, the available options will be Region 1, Region 2, and Region 3. Select Region 2 to match your location.
6. Save the changes and exit the menu. After following these steps, your radio should now be set to Region 2, allowing you to transmit in the 432 MHz range.
However, it's important to note that modifying any settings on your radio may have unintended effects, and I would recommend consulting the user manual or contacting Icom customer support for further assistance. They will be able to guide you through the precise steps specific to your model and address any concerns or issues you may have encountered.
I hope this helps, and best of luck with your digital packet modem testing!
