If your ICOM A22 radio is stuck or frozen on the ICOM logo during the boot/power-on cycle and doesn't complete the process, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Reset the radio: Locate the small reset button on the radio. It is usually a small hole labeled "RESET" on the front or back panel. Use a paperclip or a small tool to press and hold the reset button for a few seconds. This action will reset the radio's settings to their default values and might resolve the issue.
  2. Remove power and batteries: Turn off the radio and remove any external power source, such as the battery pack or power adapter. Leave the radio disconnected from power for a few minutes to allow any residual charge to dissipate. Afterward, reconnect the power source and try turning on the radio again.
  3. Update the firmware: Visit the ICOM website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your A22 radio. If there are updates, follow the instructions provided by ICOM to update the firmware. Updating the firmware can often resolve software-related issues.
