This unit supports the addition of a Standby Power Unit (or battery backup) but it is not sold with the unit. It is a separate unit, more square in shape than the opener but about the same size, and would be installed within about 3 feet of the opener. It plugs in to the bottom of the opener near the release pull cord. It is model # 475LM
