Air Flow Sensor Not Coming On

We just bought and had this dryer installed. Upon installation the "good air flow" sensor light did not come on. The installer put the dryer on for 30 mins and the light still did not come on. We later used the dryer and after 2 hours of using the dryer the light suddenly came on. I has come on when we do a full drying cycle but if you do a 5 minute dry the light never comes on. Is this normal? Should the air flow sensor have come on when we first turned the machine on? It appears to be inconsistent. Please advise as to what is is going on.
