Why Does It Say 'no Signal' When I Set Up My Dmp-bd75?

I'm trying to connect my new Panasonic DVD/Blu-ray player to my Samsung LCD 1080 HDTV (also purchased this yr), but all I get is "no signal, check source/connections". I'm using an HDMI cable. Tried 3 diff HDMI ports. Had same problem w/Samsung DVD player... got that one running but the movie kept "sticking" during playback. Seemed to be switching from 720 to 1920. Please help! Thanks!
