Turntable

The turntable continues to rotate after the microwave finishes/shuts off when the door is open. The microwave is cleaned after every use, we have had this microwave for many years and love it. This is not a serious problem just annoying when you open the door and the turntable is turning. I don't want this to lead to a more serious problem. Is there anything I can check and to fix it?

Apart from an entity having a bit of fun with your microwave (just kidding!), my guess is the latch on the microwave door is not latching properly. When the door latches it locks the turntable and forces it to turn one way and then reverse. Since the turntable is turning with the door open, it sounds like the latch is not locking properly. I doubt it would lead to a serious problem. You could get look into getting it repaired as well.
