Screen Issue

I'll start out by saying that I actually have the DC290B/37, but I can't find much on that model. Anyway my screen doesn't want to stay on, it will come on if I smack the lens real hard or sometimes if I apply a lot of pressure to one of the corners of the screen, so I figure I just need to take it apart and hopefully just fix a solder point that came loose from the board, but for the life of me I cannot get this thing apart, I've removed all of the screws, even the two on the back at the top and I've check under all the stickers and foot pads but have found no more... How do I get this thing apart without using a dead blow hammer and a blow torch?

Firstly, it's important to note that disassembling electronic devices can be tricky, and it may void any warranties or cause further damage if not done correctly. Here are a few tips that might help:

1. Consult the User Manual: If you have access to the user manual for your Philips DC290B/37, it will often contain instructions on how to disassemble the device safely. Look for a section on maintenance or troubleshooting.

2. Look for hidden screws: In addition to the visible screws, some devices have hidden screws concealed under stickers, rubber feet, or other removable parts. Carefully inspect the edges and undersides of your device for any such hidden screws.

3. Use the right tools: It's important to use the appropriate tools for disassembly to avoid causing damage. A set of precision screwdrivers with various sizes might be helpful for removing screws. Additionally, plastic pry tools or guitar picks can be used to gently separate the plastic casing without scratching or breaking it.

4. Check for clips or locking mechanisms: Some devices have clips or locking mechanisms that hold the casing together. After removing the screws, try prying the casing open gently from the edges. If you encounter resistance, examine the areas around the seams for any clips that need to be disengaged. Remember to proceed with caution and take your time during the disassembly process.

If you're uncertain about any step or feel uncomfortable doing it yourself, it's best to seek professional assistance. They can offer specialized knowledge and ensure the safety of your device throughout the repair process.

No Display on Boot: Possible Causes

The primary reason you get no display on your PC could be damaged or loosely connected cables. Other reasons may include incorrect display configuration, faulty or problematic GPU or RAM, incorrect BIOS configuration, faulty peripheral devices, or damaged PSU (Power Supply Unit).

Let's catch up on the best possible fixes for the "no display on PC" problem.

How to Fix No Display on Boot?

Follow the given troubleshooting steps and check your hardware and software to fix the blank screen error on your system.

#1 Check all Connections

You should check your power connections if you face the "no display on boot" error. There might be some connection errors between the power sockets and the PC/monitor.

If you're using Desktop:

  • Check if all the wires, ports, and adapters are connected properly. In addition, check if the video and power cables are firmly attached at both ends.
  • Now check if the power light on your monitor is on. If the light is ON, reboot your system and press Windows key sequence (Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B command) to wake the screen. It will restart your Graphics driver.
  • If there is no light on the monitor, check if the cables connected are damaged. Try the cables on another PC or attach other cable cords to your system.
  • If the cables work fine, check if you're using the correct input source.
  • If everything seems fine, there may be some issues with your monitor. First, try connecting another monitor to your system.
