My Philips Mc235b Doesn't Play Cd's

When i put a CD on it spins for a few seconds with the message LOADING on screen, then an ERROR message appears with a non stopping clicking sound from mechanism, then CD starts spinning slowly backwards. All this continues until i press POWER, OPEN/CLOSE or until i disconnect power cord.
