How To Return Quicken Product Sold To My 84 Yr Old Mother?

an employee at our local Staplesd store sold my 84 yr old mother Quicken to manage her rental accounts months ago ), which she does not know how to install much let use. I have since then purchased QuickBooks (order#2000003757556) and installed it for her. I have unsuccessfully attempted for months now to return the unopened Quicken w/ receipt. I am dismayed that any trustworthy employee would sell this software to an elderly person in this manner; and then not honor and exchange or return. Staples will not accept it back and told me Intuit would honor this request, I have attempted phone contact and am now resulting to this support 'help' method. Can you pls help me or do I need to go to my Better Business Bureau or Senator for inquiries into this matter? I would appreciate be able to retun this product for a refund to her my mother's Visa/Marth Drysdale. My name is Amanda Drysdale (thank you for any help you can give us.
