SC672, normally is something about the HDD of the machine, might be faulty or else corrupted, you can format it from the SP MODE and you can see if it works, if not you need to change the HDD, if still not working you have problems with the Controller board...before you format make sure you copy the address book for the scan to email or scan to folder because they are stored in the HDD.
