Picture Is Faint

3 1/2 year model hlt5076sx/xac model Samsung Ultra Slim TV - picture is really faint and wondering what I can do to improve picture.

the primary thing that controls the brightness is the lamp. As they age they become dimmer and eventually the fail to stay on or even start up. most people must change them every 2 years or so, sounds like you have used the heck out of the original lamp and it's time to buy your first one. The lamp code is on a tag (usually on the left side of TV), and the lamp cover is on the back.
