It sounds like there may be a problem with the gearbox or the clutch itself. I'll try my best to help you out.

First off, it's important to note that I'm not a mechanic, but I can offer some general advice to help you troubleshoot the problem. If you have the option, it's best to have a professional mechanic take a look at your car to diagnose and fix the issue properly. Here are a few things you can consider:

1. Clutch Adjustment: Sometimes, this kind of problem might be due to an improperly adjusted clutch. Ensure that the clutch pedal has the correct amount of play and that it engages and disengages smoothly.

2. Transmission Fluid: Check the level and condition of your transmission fluid. Low fluid levels or dirty fluid can cause problems with gear engagement. If necessary, top up or replace the fluid according to your vehicle's manual.

3. Worn Clutch Components: The issue might be related to worn-out clutch components, such as the clutch disc, pressure plate, or release bearing. These components can wear out over time and might need to be replaced.

4. Synchronizer Ring: The synchronizer ring helps the gears engage smoothly. If it's worn or damaged, it can cause difficulties in gaining traction in specific gears. A mechanic can inspect and replace the synchronizer if necessary.

5. Transmission Mounts: Faulty or worn-out transmission mounts can cause excessive movement, leading to gear shifting problems. Inspect the mounts to ensure they are secure and not damaged.

Remember, it's always best to consult with a professional mechanic, preferably one who specializes in manual transmissions. They will have the necessary expertise and tools to diagnose and repair the issue accurately.

I hope this is helpful? PLEASE "ACCEPT" and mark it "HELPFUL" to complement my little effort. Hope to bring you more detailed answers.
